how do u find out if ur bipolar I or II. they kept telling me i was manic depressant w/ anxiety...Now i find out i've been bipolar this whole time my last doc overdrugged me. i won't go in the hospital cause they don't treat u right here

manic depression is bipolar, just another term for it. your pdoc can tell you if you are one or two. people with bp 1 experience full blown manias, while people with bp 2 experience hypomania, which is a milder form of mania.

Bipolar II means highs are only hypomanias, not manias. The difference between hypomania and mania is that hypomanias do not interefere with functioning or lead to hospitalization, there is no psychosis, and highs can last as little as 4 days (in contrast to at least a week with manias) in order to count as an episode.
