Joseph F Goldberg, MD responded:
Dear Anon,

Your own doctor, rather than I, should be advising you about this, but, generally, it is recommended to cross-taper atypical antipsychotics in order to minimize withdrawal dyskinesia effects of the first one and possible lesser efficacy of the second one. Geodon 40-80 mg, though, is a fairly low dose, and if I were advising a patient of my own, I would probably be conservative and add on the 20 or 40 mg of Latuda and then reduce the Geodon by 20-40 mg every day or two to taper it off over about 5 days.

Dr. G.
