bpcookie posted:
Hey peeps, I have a problem. Two weeks ago I started skipping some of my Depakote doses because I was running out and now I am completely out. My Pdoc hasnt called the script in yet. So my pharmacist has been faxing my Pdoc and I have been calling him since Friday, but he has done nothing. I have not gotten a return call from my Pdoc and I have left 5 msgs and I will leave more if need be. *rolling eyes*. Now I am completely out. Ive even called my family Dr. requesting an emergency prescription and Im waiting for his call as well. (doesnt anyone ever answer their phone?)

So, what am I supposed to do now? Going to the office personally is not an option because I dont know when he will be there. There is no direct line to the front office and no other number I can call.

Has this ever happened to any of you? What did you do?

Hey Cookie, I hate that you are going through this and stressing. My gosh girl, I hate to say this, and don't know if this is an option for you, but can you switch doctors? I mean get through this time, but then seriously look for another. How frustrating! You know I realized a long time ago, any doc can take care of us when all is going smoothly, but when things are not and we count on them, that's everything. Consider it, or at least talk to him about this when you can get a hold of him! Let us know how it's going please.

Hey Cookie, usually pdocs have another pdoc to call when they are gone, i.e. on vacation, sick, or whatever - does you know who yours is? When you call your pdoc and no one answers, do they have a recording that says, "if you ..... select #1, if ...... select #2.....ect?" If not sure, call your pdoc and stay on the line until the entire message is played.

Also, a similar thing happened to me years ago and becuase the pharmacist knew I was taking that med regularly and coldn't get a hold of my doc, he filled a few or so days of it for me to hold me over until the doc called in. I would try that if the above doesn't work; can't hurt to ask.

Next time, order your refill sooner, missy! lol

Debbie

PS. also, what Chrissy said unless this was just a flook thing and does'nt normallly happen. Theres no excuse for your pdoc not taking care of this well before now outside of a legit emergency on his part.

I really hate to drop my Dr. because Ive been seeing him for 10 yrs and he knows me pretty well. Way back when I first started seeing him I had the same issues with him not returning my phone calls. But I cured him of that habit by calling him once every hour and leaving him a msg. lol. Now he is starting to fall back into the same dang habit.

I will most def. get a msg to him about his neglect to call in my meds. I have no prob. pointing out things when Dr.s fail to do their job.

Right now Im waiting for my family Dr. to call back and I know that their is a 75% chance that they will call in the script. Thanks for caring honey. muahs

I really wish my Dr. did have the *select* option, but he doesnt. Its just a straight forward msg telling me what days he is in the office and at what times, but thats not always correct.

My pharmacy already gave me three days worth and I even tried to make those last. So the pharmacy wont give me any more free-bee's, Ive already talked to them. uuuggghhh

I have auto refills on my meds and the pharmacy will auto manically fill my scripts three days in advance and if Im out of refills they will fax the Dr. I had assumed that my Dr. called it in, so three days before I was to run out, I called my pharmacist and found out that he never called. Another uuugggghhh.

I swear, these last three days have been so stressful. Last nights escapades didnt help much (you know what I mean).

btw, ot, why do you think that ppl who totally lose it will pick me out of the crowd and go banana's on me?? *shrug*
