    Correcting Bad Behavior.
    lotus posted:
I am doing better coming down from my hypomania. I am trying to correct the problems I occured while manic. One was I was spending ALOT of money, which I do not have. I gave my my credit cards to a friend. I also was eating alot. I still have an earge to go to a casino. I gained so much weight. The other risky behavior I had, is no longer a problem.I know I can't address all of them at once or I will get overwhelmed. The one thing I have to address is the projects are started. My house is a distaster with half started major projects. The livingroom is full of christmas decorations. The diningroom is full of arts and crafts half completed. My office is full of rederorating to change to my craft room. If anyone comes over they can see the mess in all 3 rooms. I have stuff all over the floor. It is very embarrasing.
GOAL FOR TODAY - I am going to start in the living room and pick that up totally, then dust and vacume. Then I will have one room nice. I will then start on the next room if I am up to it. If I don't it will be ok. I will at least reach my goal. Donna

Lotus hun, you should see my house. It's a disaster. Its all because of my chronic pain but I feel so bad about not cleaning up. I have half started projects also. I was manic a few months ago and I went crazy over making safety pin jewelery. So now I have a bunch of safety pins and a bunch of beads and I have NO desire to make the jewelery anymore. I also have a half make purse. So I know how you feel.

I believe that your doing the right thing. Clean only one room each day. You don't have to go crazy and spend the entire day cleaning. My husband tells me not to do that cause I do go crazy. lol. As for the credit card, that was a great idea.

I really know how you feel and what your going through right now. I've been there before, over and over again. It just happens and it sucks.

Oh and I tend to blab a lot too. hugs (I hope you don't mind the hugs, if it bothers you please let me know)
You may go through life hearing a 1000 NO's but don't give up because your YES is out there waiting for you.- (Something my father told me.)

I am right there too. One of my little "tricks" is to have my vacuum sitting out. Then if people come over, at least it looks like I was planning to clean. lol
I did a project recently. A weekend project turned into a month long project. With my kitchen being torn up and the dining room as well. I didn't have a choice but to finish it. Now the rest of the house is a mess. Laundry? meh. I guess I had better go do some of that now that I think of it.
I do think that once I have one room looking ok, I feel good and it motivates me to keep going. Good luck!

OMG lotus, you just described my home, really!!

You know what I always say to people that try to excuse the mess around them, that I'm more comfortable in a messy home then a straightened one. Feels more like home to me!

Gosh I really am in the same shape at my home, One way or another it's all going to get done!
Hope we all have a good productive day.

Life is too short, so kiss slowly, laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly.

Thanks for the hugs. You know we can't get enough hugs. Keep it up please. I have close to $200 of swaroski crystal beads still in the bags that I was going to do the same thing you did. Plus they were on sale. I get such a rush with things on sale. Even if I am not manic. I am hoping to return them. I am too embarished ( my spelling has gone to crap) to return them myself. I hoping a freind would do it if I am able to let go of them. I hope your pain lets up.
    lotus replied to DizzyJgirl's response:
I almost wet my pants laughing about the vacume idea.. I do have my vacume out. I will try your idea. You all would be please to know, I cleaned the living room. Basically I just moved everything to my dining room table.

I may have misconstrued cliquishness as close on-line friendships in this community with a few members trying to keep things alive. I apologize. You are correct, bpcookie, everyone here has always treated me with respect. Again, I am sorry.

Our house is the same way. I do my best as the full-time dear disabled husband but just can not keep up with all the housework as I should. My wonderful wife had a back injury at work last year and after over 18 months of trying various treatments her doctors all agree she is 100% disabled and can not work any longer. She tried to continue working light duty with restrictions, but a new manager that came on in July refused to adhere to her documented restrictions. My wife had already contracted a very good workman's compensation attorney and it looks like a settlement hearing will happen fairly soon. Anyway, it is now the crippled leading the crippled in our house as we say. We do what we can and will be looking to pay someone to help us after she gets the settlement funds.

GOAL FOR TODAY: My wife, eldest son and I went to the mall and walked for the first time this morning. We all need to get healthier and build our strength. I took and used my cane and made it almost to the middle of the mall from one far end. My wife and son made it almost to the other end. We then all sat for a bit and walked back to the car. Hopefully little by little we can walk through the whole mall without a rest and then increase speed.

Have a blessed and thankful Thursday, folks.

Dave, Be sure you and your family listen to your body when you are walking. Don't over do it. Be proud that you are doing something. Congradulation on your accomplishment. Donna

This thread makes me feel better about not having a perfectly clean house. At least I know I am not the only one who doesn't have the most organized, clean house.
    jselleck replied to lexismom11's response:
I have to admit that about the only time our apartment is clean is when maintenance is coming to do some kind of work or the city is doing their annual inspection. I HATE cleaning house, and while I don't mind doing the laundry, I HATE folding it. I try to do a little a day, but as the say, the road to hell, etc etc. Like you guys, when I'm manic I LOVE to spend money. When I was working there was many a day I'd hit the outdoor mall on my way home from work. I think at one point or another I've maxed out most of our credit cards and some of them had high limits I hate to say. It got so bad that when I was hospitalized the third time I finally had to say enough was enough and gave all my cards to my husband. Unfortunately I got them back later, but I have to get points for trying. And I don't spend as much now that I don't drive. I hate to say that having your husband along when you're shopping tends to take the thrill out of it. Especially when he's constantly saying we're poor, double poor, triple poor, we have no money. Tends to drive one crazy. But I love him any way, and he means well. I think the struggle to control our spending and be good stewards is something everyone struggles with, those with BP just struggle more. So as one fighter to another, good luck, and fight on!!!

    lotus replied to jselleck's response:
Another thing that gets me to pick up ( and it has nothing to do with bp) is when the housekeeper is coming. That is the craziest thing. It has been ages since I had someone to clean.
So I don't have to pick up.
