Question for the doctor
An_249263 posted:
I am on several medications (im bipolar) I have recently started taking adhd medcine. How long before I can see the real effects of it I am not day 5 of the medicine and it is so far not showing me anything I am on Strattera and I am hoping it kicks in soon because I am three weeks behind in school and there are only two weeks left.
Joseph F Goldberg, MD responded:
Dear An,

Straterra, like most psychiatric medicines, isn't a drug that dramatically "kicks in" so much as, gradually over time, you might start to see some improvement in your ability to focus your attention. An adequate trial would be several weeks or more, not several days.

Dr. G.
