Joseph F Goldberg, MD responded:
Dear San,

Serious rashes with Lamictal usually occur between the 2nd and 8th weeks of treatment and involve burn-like blistering lesions on soft tissues such as the insides of the cheeks or nares or eyes, or may involve peeling skin on the palms and soles of the feet. The risk is 8/10,000. Non-serious rashes can look like anything and need to be evaluated by a doctor to determine the likelihood of its association with a drug, and the need for any treatment or stopping of a suspected offending drug.

Dr. G.
