am i having a normal mood swing or is it my bipolar disorder?
motivated21 posted:
I was first diagnosed with a mood disorder almost a year ago but then i stopped taking my meds and become full of energy, confidence, risky behavior, irritability, anger and i couldn't sleep or concentrate and that was this past November. Due to me not taking my meds regularly that's how they discovered that i have bipolar 2 and sometimes i want that high feeling back so i have this desire to just stop taking my meds.. am i the only one who feels this way? On top of that i'm confused... i can't tell what's a regular mood swing and what's an episode as weird as that sounds. Do people with bipolar disorder have triggers because sometimes when i'm stressed i throw books across the room, i become irritated like there's no tomorrow and even want to punch a wall. I guess i'm confused about who i am and what's real.

welcome to the board. wanting to stop taking meds is quite common. the problem with that is all the symptoms come back and it can destroy your life. we can have normal mood swings, it's just that we have to watch that they don't go out of control or continue for too long.

2 weeks ago i was really stressed and i ended up throwing a book across the room, was really irritable and wanted to punch a wall. This girl right here doesn't do that i mean during high school two years ago i punched a wall and that was before my meds and being diagnosed. It's hard to tell what's normal and what's not.
