stopping a manic/hypomanic episode

Is there anything I can do to shorten or even stop a manic episode? I'm diagnosed bipolar type II and I feel like a hypomanic episode may be starting. Is there anything I can do or do I just have to tough it out?

are you on meds? the best way to control that is with meds.
