Bipolar Meds

I know about most of the contemporary meds that treat bipolar. I know the good, the bad, and the best...for me anyways. My friend is going to seek help considering the posibility of being bipolar. The problem of treatment is that he cannot swallow pills. He even chews his Aspirin! My question for the community is if there are any liquid or chewable treatments for bipolar, for depression and mania??? - Thanx!!!!

There are limited options for people living with bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders and/or with depression with no family or support. Most don't want to live in HUD apartments or assisted living. What kind of living situation is desired by the bipolar community?
  • Community living with staff.
  • Low income apartment living.
  • HUD or subsidized apartments.
  • Individual house for a single or couple.
  • Emergency housing (homeless shelters).

A quick call the the local NAMI chapter probably would be a good place to start. They are very helpful and friendly.

Talk to your doctors. A lot of the meds out there do come in liquid format...or capsule. My kids couldn't do capsules, so I would break them open and sprinkle them in apple sauce or yogurts for their meds (not MH related).
