I was just watching a program on public television and they talked about a study done that showed if people simply wrote down the five things they were grateful for in their life every day for 21 days, that they tested measurably happier, calmer and more satisfied with their life. Like a free anti-depressant without side effects, huh?

I read a similar article a few weeks ago. I just forget to do this. Maybe posting a reminder on my computer and starting a log would be a good idea.

Hi Hope,

I have used that technique when I was really depressed. It helped me realize that I had good in my life as well as bad. As for making me happy, I still had a lot of depression but it helped.

It sounds like a good idea if people remembered to do it. They would have to want to otherwise it wouldnt work. As the other post said it might not cure depression but at least you would know there is some positive stuff in life.
