Probably a more useful statistic is to say that in people with bipolar disorder, there is anywhere from about a 7-10-fold chance that another family member may have a mood disorder. That statistic comes from the work of Steve Faraone and Ming Tsuang, two world-recognized psychiatric genetic epidemiologists.

I thought this is what Dr. Goldberg had said in his *Welcome* post. But I do understand why you would put it under tips, since Dr. Goldbergs post is so full, that it may have been over looked.
