Aging out of BPD

My doctor use to tell me I was "aging out" of my BPD symptoms. I read up on this and found in new studies that the people the doctors thought were aging out were really giving up on society because interactions are so painful with others and instead were just staying home and isolating themselves. I kicked my recovery into gear after reading this because I don't want to be like this; I don't want to give up on relationships and interacting with others. I am doing better now that I am in a clubhouse and in DBT. Living with this illness is difficult but better than the alternative.

that's very interesting, i am 50 ish i used to have a lot more problems with my illness, always getting into argument, nothing was ever the way i thought it should be. in the last 15 years i have pulled way back, i don't go any were i have a job that it is only me at work. i still struggle with keeping my mouth shut with my family. i thought i was just getting better at dissociating but maybe i am aging out too. thanks for sharing.
