Mother is a ticking time bomb

Help! My mother is getting worse and we don't know how to deal with her. She has been depressed for years, has a lot of anxiety and can't handle normal everyday stresses. She is very negative and complains all the time, says she just wants to die ALL the time. In the last 6months she has been seeing bugs everywhere and all over her and claims they bite her. She picks at them and has sores all over her body. She has meltdowns in varying degree's of severity and the most recent we had to call 911 and they took her to emergency. They had to release her because she insisted that nothing was wrong with her. The doctor told us that she has Histrionic personality disorder. Ok. So now what? She refuses to see doctors or take meds. She currently lives by herself and is 77. I feel like she is a ticking time bomb to her next meltdown. In some ways, I am hoping she will have one where they will have to admit her so she will be forced to have a proper evaluation and put on meds. Any suggestions on how to deal with this?

do what you have to do to have her properly evaluated. next time maybe call the cops see if she can be committed for a few days tell her that her mind is telling her bad things and she needs help to control it.

think she may have more than bpd honestly she needs dif meds and a dif evaluation. everybody is diffrent and were like gini pigs till we get the right help unfortuantly.. i would try educating yourself more and mybe writing down whats going on and how often to help you a doc get to the bottom of it. goodluck!
