Just found out I have 2 lumps that are cancerous and they found a 3rd with an MRI no results on the third yet. Going for a second opinion and preparing for surgery.

So sorry to hear of your cancer diagnosis. But you came to the right place to vent, chat or ask questions. I'm surprised you haven't had any replies yet, but I'm sure you will soon. I had a bilateral mastectomy in May of 09, chemo and radiation for triple negative bc-IDC with 3 nodes involved. I'm so glad to hear you are getting a second opinion. Learn all that you can from reputable sites and your doctors. It is scary, but so doable. Very life changing! I am back to my new 'normal' now and enjoying life again. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Keep us informed here, ok? I will keep you in my prayers. Sue

I'm new to this discussion board, also. I've been posting on the Diabetes Type 2 board for many years.

I found a lump at the end of May, went for Mammo and UltraSound, had the vacuum-assisted core biopsy from hell (my surgeon says the hematomas may take a year to go away) and I had a lumpectomy with Sentinel Node biopsy yesterday afternoon. So far, everything looks as good as it possibly can. The node was clear, and the tumor was just at 3 cm which lets me squeek in under the wire for Mammosite radiation. We still have to wait for the final path report and the Oncotype DX score before deciding on chemo.

Kathin - hang in there, it gets easier once the plan is in place. I know I was an absolute wreck until I made the decision to go forward with the lumpectomy and not do chemo first. Now I am pretty calm with the eviction of the tumor!

Sorry to have to welcome you to this board as no one would choose to be a member...Fate sometimes has other ideas!

First let me assure you that you haven't slipped through any crack or been ignored...The reason there have been few responses is that WebMD is in the process of adding many new features and along the way there often occurs a hiccup or two...Being unable to post is among those current hiccups!

Yes, it feels like the bottom has fallen out of your world when you get a cancer diagnosis. But it truly does get better (as you've already been advised) when there is a plan in place and you start moving in the direction of a solution.

Know you will be in our thoughts and come back anytime you feel the need. We care and want to know how you are doing.

blessings.

Glad to hear that you are feeling a bit more in control since you are on the right path. And thanks for offering your good advice to others. We need one another...those who understand, those who share and care, those who know thqt sometimes even in these situations we can find humor along the way and we can laugh together too!
