Hello everyone! My grandmother from my mother's side has breast cancer also my grandmothers sister has a brain tumor as you can see my family from mother's side has a history of cancer. This is where I come in ....I have a tumor in my left breast also I have nipple discharge color brown. I had went to the doc. and she said it could be a fibroadenoma since I am to young to have breast cancer but she has concern of the discharge since fibroadenoma don't cause discharge so she sent me to get a MRI to make sure I dont have ductal carcinoma or papilloma. I have an appt. to see the doc again the 22 to see whats going on. I honestly dont think is a fibroadenoma I have a really bad feeling is cancer just because of family history, the tumor and the color of discharge. If it is cancer im ready for anything thats coming my way.My question is has this happend to anyone here that turned out to be cancer?

I know sweety 24 is very young but try and stay positive even though cancer runs in your family. I did not have this happen to me but I am a 3 year breast cancer survivor so even if it is cancer it does not mean the end. The survival rates a really good so please try and stay positive. I have a freind I meet at a group she is a 35 year survivor so think positive and hope for the best from your results. I will pray for you and send some angel hugs your way all the best sweet child please take comfort in the arms of the angels just close your eyes and imagine soft angel wings wrapping around you and breath nice and easy in and out this should help you when feeling stressed. This helps me when going for my test and just last week for surgery try it, it can't hurt. Roberta

Hey, Kiddo, I am sorry that you are dealing with this stressful situation. All of us can fully appreciate the tension that waiting and worrying brings.

I am glad, however, that you are going to have an MRI to find out exactly what is happening. Our bodies are pretty good at alerting us when something is amiss...It's up to us to listen to them and follow thru.

Hopefully, what is happening to you is not cancer, but at this point no one can say one way or another. Further testing is needed. (Don't be surprised is there is a biopsy as that is the only definitive way to rule it out or in.)

I'm rather miffed at that doctor who has the audacity to say you are too young for cancer. THAT IS NOT THE CASE!!! It is less common for a young person to get it but it does happen. (Similarly one would never state that men do not get breast caner...It happens less often than for women, BUT it DOES happen! She needs to rethink such a statement.)

If you do not feel comfortable with the results of this coming test or have any lingering doubts about a direction to pursue in this, please get a 2ND OPINION!! (We highly support getting the full picture by getting another opinion!)

Please know you wil be in our thoughts, and do let us know how you are doing. Okay?

blessings.

Thank you ladies for the response I really appreciate it...@ Rachel67 : I did get the MRI, results was that there was a small suspicious mass on the right breast near the nipple that the Doctor wanted to biopsy it and also have a mammogram done. I did do the mammogram,I did go for the core biopsy yesterday and it was unpleasant not because of the pain but because they missed placed my paper work and I was waiting in the waiting room for an 1hr with the gown on they said they didn't know I was there, How very upset I was and how unprofessional they were. I feel very uncomfortable attending myself there not to mention I feel they might bring back false results after what happend not only that but my concern is the left breast not the right. I had asked why they wanted to biopsy one breast and not both my surgeon said because there's nothing on the left breast and it appears to be benign base on ultrasound MRI and mammogram? I thought to myself you dont know nothing until you see under a microscope. I had questioned her then why do I have brown discharge from the left breast she said she doesnt know but that she was going to monitor it. I feel very uncomfortable with what she said I feel theres more she could do. I only have clear discharge from my right breast the mass is as small as a pinky nail. I have to see the surgeon next week for the results of the biopsy and i'm going to be stright foward with her and tell her how I feel about this situation and im going for a second opinion.

Sounds like your uncertainty regarding this doctor and the office, etc. might be very on point! Shame on them!! And then loosing you???!! I am glad you are going to let this doc know...and am even happier that you will get a 2nd opinion! (Get the referral from another place as you want to make sure you are "disconnected" and there is no influence from this one. Okay?)

Also, make sure you get copies of each record to keep so that you can bring them to other medical professionals. Tho' it is a good idea to have the office send copies to whomever you see, someties youi arrive and they haven't. It's always nice to have your own in such cases and to refer to when necessary.

Let us know how you are doing.

Blessings.

But I am glad that you had the test done. But please do get a second opinion and keep us up dated on what you hear and how you are doing. I am send you some angel hugs and prayers Roberta

Jazyjaz,
I am so sorry you are going thru this.
And you are right you have to look at
a biopsy under a microscope to be sure.
Roberta is right, you need a second
opinion. It's ok that they did the tests.
I had a Mammogram, Ultra Sound
and MRI and they all looked good.
After my excision they found I had
Invasive Lobular BC.
The place that you went to made a
big mistake and treated you poorly.
This should never happen.
I wish you good luck. Please let us know
how you are doing.

This is an update: based on the result of the biopsy the surgeon said i have intraductal papilloma and that im going to need surgery...surgery is the 28th of this month and after she takes what ever it is she is going to take out she will send to a pathologist to be 150% sure there is no cancer. She also said that is very odd for a young woman like myself to have papilloma because papilloma usually occures in women from ages 35-55 by having it in both breast and having family history and my age she said im at high risk for getting breast cancer in the future.the post testing is the 14th which they are going to take blood and pics. they gave me a special soap to take a bath with the day before surgery and the day of surgery and i cant eat after 12:00 am the 28th.
