I have an appointment on Friday afternoon with my original Dana Farber oncologist (in Boston). My local oncologist told me I'll probably be put on a platinum chemo, and I will have a biopsy to recheck the hormone status. I've heard of the hormone status changing from ER+ to ER- or the HER status changing, but I've not seen where triple negative switches to a positive anything. I also sent my PET report to my Radiation Oncologist, hoping he might have some creative ideas.
Soooo.... looks like my summer will be yucky again, my reconstruction surgery is off the table, and the "race for the cure" has new urgency for me.

I will be on Pinkie with everyone for your trip to Boston to see your doc on Friday.
In the meantime, you are in my prayers.

But----You do know that you are in the right location for the best Doctors. Dana Faber is top-notch as you well know. I pray your Onc and all your other Dr's will come up for a plan for you.
Yes, I have heard that the ER and PR status can change.
I am sending you whatever I can---prayers, good thoughts, many bouquets of flowers and a pillow. The pillow to pound the stuffing out of it.
Well, Geez.
Love you,
Jan
I can't tell you how upset for you I feel at this moment. I have followed your blog and feel as if I know you as a close friend. We have celebrated good news together and now I am sorry to hear such awful news.
You are in an excellent place for treatment.
Good idea to check with your RO as they are doing a lot with radiation to zap those metastases.
I will pray for you and keep sending you positive vibes and good thoughts along with cyber hugs.
Much love to you,
Judy
I am so sorry to hear this - sending you (((hugs))) and hope.
There is no emoticon to show how I am feeling right now.....

We leave for Paris on 5/25, nothing is changng that plan. Treatment will begin after we return on 6/5. And Paris will be a "no cancer zone" so we will have a fabulous time.
And welcome to the site, Christine. My DH would love to go to Scotland, he is an avid golfer and St. Andrews is the holy grail of golf. We need to get to that sooner, rather than later!
Jan - love the idea of the pounding pillow! You might want to think about marketing that idea!
Judy - thanks for reading my blog. It's certainly become quite the tome, much more than I ever would have expected when I started it!
I'm taking this one day at a time and forever grateful that I have access to the best medical care and the most beautiful family and friends. I'll be OK.

I'll be on the lookout for Pinkie right next to our tour buses, taxis, and oh, better get ready to rev the engine if you're going to keep up with Eurostar the day we go to London. That baby goes about 180 mph!!! So make sure everyone is strapped in and ready to roll!

I am so happy that you have this fabulous trip coming up for Paris. That is totally awesome! I love that it is a cancer-free zone. That is as it should be!!!! Do you speak French at all? I am drooling think about the yummy breads and foods you will be having. How wonderful for you and your family, and the timing is a super escape. I think we all want to come with you!
Many hugs and blessings,
Jenna
Now for Paris...I took French in high school and my mom's side of the family speaks fluent Canadian French. That said, I can understand a bit more than I can speak...it's been 45 years since I sat through a French conversation...lol! But we are all downloading French translators onto our smartphones so we'll manage pretty well.
As for the food, some of you know that I am diabetic. But this vacation will also be a "diabetic-free" zone, if you know what I mean. Oh yes, crepes, macarons, pain au chocolat, apple and pear tarts, and yummy dishes with exquisite sauces. Nothing will be off limits on this trip! And oh, let's not forget the red wine!
I'm even doing something I haven't done in ten years - getting both knees shot up with steroids so I can walk, pain-free. That's happening on Monday.
This time next Saturday, we'll be there!
