I am a 7 year breast cancer survivor and have begun experiencing hip pain. Bone scan and blood work were all negative. I have an MRI scheduled. Has anyone had normal blood and bone scan and then discovered from the MRI that the cancer had metastasised to the bone

I think most of the time, normal bone scans and blood work are accurate. We tend to find out that we have arthritis or some other age-related problem. It's pretty normal, though, to assume that every ache and pain means bone mets.

Sending positive thoughts for an MRI that will show what's causing your pain, and hopefully it's not cancer.

Hugs,
Michelle

My husband and I are both cancer survivors. We have experienced hip pain, but found it to be nothing. Exercise seems to help alot. Yoga, walking and stretching.

Hi,
I have more aches and pains post-chemo. I thinkit is risidual effects from all the foreign substances that I had. I also take Arimidex which causes aches and pains.

I think that if your mri shows no evidence of cancer, and also bloodwork, that is a great sign you are cancer-free.

I hope they get to the root as to what is causing your discomfort soon.
