Hi, everybody I feel like it has been ages since I was on. (Just Diagnosed) My mom has had her 2nd cycle of chemo in this round and actually has cycle 3 this coming Thursday. Her hair is almost all gone and she sports a hat most of the time and nausea plagues her for about a week after each dose but no vomiting (Thank God). On Sunday 7-1 my middle daughter and I were on our way to church when I looked at her hair and told her to brush it only to look straight again just in time to slam on the breaks and rear end the car that had stopped in front of us. My daughter had just taken her seat belt off to brush and look in the mirror on the back of the visor. She hit the windshield and got cuts on her face and a concussion, Thank God it was not more serious, as for myself and the other driver only some "whiplash" and bumps & bruises. I am so glad mom was not with me at that time I don't know how it might have effected her. A pastor friend of ours was in a wreck last night and his wife was killed and he was seriously injured so I thank God that ours was not worse.

Anyway, I am crocheting mom hats like crazy so she is not too self conscious and trying to be as supportive as possible. I thank everybody that responded to my previous posts, I believe it has helped me be a better support for her. When I say my prayers I always mention the people on this site even if I don't know everybody's name God does. Blessing to all. Talk to you soon.

Wow Beth - hopefully your personal perfect storm cloud has passed and ou are now on the road to good health, good times and good news!
Your mom is doing well with her chemo - it is not eay, but from what you say she is still able to function which is good. As we know - chemo is not easy - but is doable, and mom will soon have 3 infusions behind her!
Thanks for staying in touch with us - it's nice to know how our members and their caregivers are doing.
Much good luck to you and your mom.

Beth,
I am glad you are all ok. How scary. Life is so busy today.
Make sure you take enough time for yourself( like when ?
Right?) It's hard to be a caregiver and it sounds like you
are doing a great job.
I am glad you Mother is getting through it.
Hang in there!

Hi Beth,
I am glad to hear your mom is tolerating chemo well. I hope you take some time to take care of yourself during all this!

My dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer only 2 months after I finished with my treatments, but I did force myself to rest and try and eat right to gain my strength back so I could be there for him.

Life is hard! Many blessings to you and your mom. How great you are making her hats - that is wonderful!

take good care ~
Jenna
