O.K. back to reality. Broncho was inconclusive to what the heck this is. So now on to a needle-guided lung bio. Just what I need--BUT we have to find out what we are dealing with to know how to treat this.
I was totally wrong on this just being pneumonia. It is a whole different type and not your regular kind what-so-ever. This "Orgainizing pneumonia" is when your immune system is totally out of whack. Due to the chemo I had last summer caused my immune system to go hay-wire. Figures, Right? If it is this Organizing stuff we treat it with prednisone. BUT---if it is angio then we treat it with chemo.
That is WHY we need to find out what it is!! So now on to better and bigger stuff. Only thing is Dr. Dreamy will not be doing this procedure (dang it) but the radiologist by using CT scan to guide him. So I will have to behave myself this time around. Boy, that is going to be hard to do.
I am feeling better but slowly going off the prednisone and still coughing at times. The two Dr's are a little concerned as they thought I would be doing much better. Oh Well. At least, I get to see Dr. Dreamy more often so it can't be all bad. Right???
Thanks for partying with me yesterday and it was a beautiful day but a little on the hot side.
Will let you all know when I need Pinkie again. It is just too bad it is such a short trip up to the next city.
Michelle, glad your appt went pretty good. We both have to stay UP-Beat on our situations. At least you have the good looking tech and I have the Dr. Too bad---I WIN----- LOL.

Well, a lung biopsy is not fun, but I know of someone who had it done this week and he was just fine afterwards. It's the right thing to do, rather than guessing at what's going on.
We'll be ready to party hearty when the time comes!
Hugs,
Michelle

Geez, this is the second post on this I have tried. When I hit submit it just sits there.
We do need to stay up-beat on our situations. Wishing you all the best. I hate to be in Limbo but hopefully soon will have some answers.

Hey, Now I found a very cute CT scan tech. OMG--dark brown curly hair with the most amazing eyes. Geez, what is with the Eyes lately??? As he was showing me the way out, he put his hand on my shoulder and told me to take good care of myself.. Weird---These techs are always so dang serious and stern and never crack a smile. I told him I would try. It was one of the weirdest encounters I have ever had.
O.K. Michelle, we will have "Pinkie" all decorated with pink and purple ribbons for 8/6 for the best PET yet.
Now let's hope this dang thing will post.
Always
Jan

Just got back from a long weekend in Vermont with some friends who flew in from Kansas City. We had beautiful, actually hot, weather!
No, I didn't scare off the cute PA, but I alternate seeing him with my medical oncologist. And I'm not going back for a month, so it will be her that I see.
The first plastic surgeon that I saw at Brigham & Women's in Boston was a very handsome guy. But he didn't perform the reconstruction surgery that I was going to have, so he handed me off to a female micro-vascular plastic surgeon. She's very attractive and looks young enough to be my daughter...lol. I am a victim of circumstances!!!!

Sending you blessings and hugs for the Pet scan on 8/6, and really happy you had a blast in Vermont with friends. We are heading to Maine for a long weekend in August. New England really is beautiful in the summer - can't wait to get to the Maine coast. Hear lobster is in abundance this year, but I am the only one in my family who doesn't like it! I am sure I can find other yummy things to eat, no worries - lol!
Is your scan at Dana?
I see my oncologist next week for my 6 month check up and bloodwork - try not to think about all this bc stuff, but boy when those appointments are on the horizon and you have to wait for tests, we all know it s!!@@##!!!
Well humidity is supposed to break for us this weekend, but honestly it sure beats the snow anytime!

Sure hope you get to see someone other than females. LOL. Keep watching for the cute techs. They are out there. LOL LOL.
Glad you got away for awhile. Sounds like you had a great time. I have never been to the New England states. Been to New York City and WA DC. Years and Years ago.
Loads of luck.
Jan
I will take you along in spirit for sure!!! My family are all lobster lovers, so they will be in heaven!!!
I will eat a virtual lobster for you, maybe you will be able to close your eyes and taste it???!!!
Thanks for your well wishes - I won't have blood test results until after the 31st of July, which bites. The Friday appointments sometimes adds more waiting time, but I don't work Fridays so I try and get all my appointments on that day if possible. The things only we here can understand.....
cheers for a good day ~

My scan isn't at Dana Farber. There is a hospital about 20 minutes from me and I go there...I figure a PET/CT machine is the same, no matter where it's performed. And this place has a brand new one, so it's definitely not a lack of technology issue. I always get a copy of the CD and provide it to my DF docs.

We could meet for lunch or an early dinner, it would be fun. And I am willing to drive most anywhere within a couple hours!
Enjoy that trip to Maine, my kids once told me our vacation in Bar Harbor was better than Disney World!
And good luck with your appointment and tests. Waiting for results is always a problem. One of the things I love about my local DF clinic is that my lab results are ready in 15 minutes, except for the tumor markers which take about 36 hours or so. The lab is right on site and they process things stat, mostly because the doc will decide if a patient can proceed with chemo that day.
Hugs,
Michelle

That is great your lab results can be ready that quickly. 36 hours not so bad for the tumor markers. I usually have to wait a good 3-5 days and then I feel like I can breathe!!
I do LOVE clam chowder, shrimp, oh blueberries and more blueberries~!~ I eat them just about every morning almost year round with my morning yogurt. I can't wait to have blueberry ice cream in Maine. I hear it is amazing!!!! OK, so now I am hungry for something sweet.
Agree, it would be fun to meet up, we will be in touch about that!!!!
I have a mental note that you go 8/6. Only good things are coming your way!
hugs & flowers,
Jenna
