Hi,I have been getting nastitius 4 times in the last year. It hits me really fast. I go to bed & wake up with a 103.4 fever. It is always one breast & my breast gets swollen with red streaks down thru it & so painful. It takes a 14 day strong anti-biotic. This time it took a month on anti-biotics. It heals very slow,my skin gets red hot & my breast will peel just like it was burned. I have had a mamo & an ultra-sound,the radiologist saw pockets of infection & thats why the extra time on anti-biotics. I get another ultra-sound in 5 weeks. Has any one else had this problem?? I would love to hear from you,Thanks,Sunshine 90806

I have not had this problem. But it sounds like you should really be checked out by a breast specialist. You have not said whether or not you are seeing a breast specialist. If notyou shouldseek out a breast clinin and breast specialist in your area. If youhave been seeing a breast specialist then you really do need to get a second opnion.
There are many diseases of the breast that are not well known and many doctors do classify any problem with the breast as an infection also known as mastitis. There is no reason for you to continually experience this kind of pain - and there is a reason you are having it come back again even after taking very strong antibiotics.
Also please know that mammograms and ultrasound are good diagnostic tools for finding masses/cysts and calcifications in the breast, none of which you have - so you do need different tests and that is why I think you really need to get to a breast center and see a breast specialist who has experience with diagnosing diseases of the breast. Please know that a breast surgeon is not a breast doctor - he is a surgeon that is familiar with the structure of the breast so he can operate, but he is not a diagnostician - which is precisely what you need right now.
Please take care of this problem and let us know how you are doing.
Much good luck,
Judy

I am in total agreement with Judy! Your body is trying to tell you that something is wrong. And the problem always returning means that the approach being used may not be addressing that issue.

I know Judy was trying to not frighten you, but you should be aware that some very aggressive cancers of the breast are not visible with normal testings such a mammograms, etc. and need special treatments.

Please see a specailist ...If you have a breast care center near you, that would be a good starting point as they have the latest tests and are most up to date with information, etc.

Know you will be in our thoughts that all is soon resolved. Keep us updated on how you are doing, and feel free to come back often! We're here for one another 24/7!

I would ask the doctor to check for cellulitis. And that can be dangerous, so don't hesitate to push for tests to find out exactly what's going on.
