Faslodex Treatment & Double Vision..

BIBA42 posted:
I have been on Faslodex for over a year now. 2 days after my ultimate treatment, I began to have double vision, and the left eye seems to be the effected eye. When I follow the finger to the extreme left I lose total vision. A magnetic scan showed no abnormalities. The Oculist could not see any laceration. It was mentioned that the cause may be from the Faslodex.

I appreciate all the help. I was prescribed with a treatment of Fortecortin 4mg. This has left me completely KO! with abdominal cramps, bone pain etc etc.. I had to suspend the treatment immediately.

Can anyone confirm of a similar case ?. Thank you...

I have tried to research side-effects of Faslodex with not a great deal of success. However, I did see several things which might indicate possible visual involvement: Vasodilatation, headache and blood clots. Any of these could play a role...whether they do or not is another thing.

I also checked the symptom checker on WebMD and what came up for double vision ranged from aspirin poison to sinus to stroke to cataracts ( A good friend of mine was just diagnosed with this ...She had double vision too!) to diabetes.

You should definitely follow this up with your Primary...Obviously double vision is NOT normal and you need to find out the cause!

Please know we will send tons of good thoughts your way. Keep us informed on how you are doing. Okay?

Blessings.

I too cannot say definitely whether the medication can cause double vision, but you should know that these strong meds can have rare side effects.
Ihad severe dry eyes which came on months after I finished chemo and found out that dry eye is a rare side effect of chemo. I now have punctal plugs and put eye drops in a few times a day.
I would suggest that you see if there is some kind of eye drops you could put in to help since you cannot tolerate the oral med you were given. I am assuming you have already seen an opthamologist since you mentioned having a scan, if not you should see one.
Hope you find relief - and please let us know how you are doing.
Good luck,
Judy
