ok,so, my sister died of it a few years back. been through the tomoxafin treatment and had a BRAC test that showed I didn't have the gene - no guarantees............now I have a rash on the underside of my breast that looks to me like it might be inflammatory breast cancer. it hurts, it's red, it feels like the skin of an orange. I thought it might be a "diaper" rash but it's not going away. Anyone have any thoughts other than get to the doctor?

Difficult time to be sure.

I do think, however, that the way you asked the question, you already know the answer. Right? From all you describe it is apparent it is not normal, and when our bodies tell us something is amiss, it is up to us to follow thru.

What you describe is suspicious, and could indicate Inflammatory Breast Cancer...HOWEVER....IT MIGHT NOT BE THAT!!

Being examined and tested (probably with a biopsy to be sure) is the only way to know. Presently all you can do is fret and worry and put yourself in a total stressed-out state. The quicker you know the truth, the quicker you can either finally exhale...Or you can get busy on a treatment. Either path would be most productive than the one you are on now.

(I am assuming that you have begun doing homework to compare your symptoms with IBC, right? If not, there are several good sites which might give a little more information...OR it might only add to your stress level....You will have to make that decision.)

Please know that we are here to offer support and share our experiences to help in any way we can. Sometimes merely listening or offering a virtual shoulder. You will be in our thoughts and hopes that you are not dealing with anything of great concern. Let us know how you are doing. We care!

Blessings.
