    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Good News!

I recently had my yearly physical and mammogram done and I am still cancer-free and going strong!!! Did my "happy dance" and thanked my Lord for another year of being cancer free. My only health issue is still my neurological disorder IH (intracranial hypertension) and that will be an issue for the rest of my life unless a cure is found. But that's okay I am healthy otherwise and I just live each day as it comes. I live with painful headaches and other things that come with IH but it is just a reminder to me that I am living and I am still here to battle whatever comes my way.
I wasn't visiting here for awhile because I had a major setback with some depression issues. I can report now that I am doing better with that and I am on some good medication to help me with depression. When you are faced with some "rocks" in your path sometimes they are just too big for you to move so you have to get help to move them out of the way. My husband helped me to go and seek help for it and it was the best thing I could have ever done. Normally I am a very happy person but sometimes even us happy people can reach a point in their lives to where they spiral down to a dark place and it can be hard to climb out of. So if you ever feel like you are sinking just remember there is help out there through your dr or other medical/mental facility.
You are all my heroes and I send out tons of hugs to each of you for good reports, good health and lots of love. God Bless! ~Janet~

Super news on the cancer report, Jan! We are celebrating along with you!

Glad to have you back, and even more glad that you got the help you needed to get beyond those damnable rocks! (Aren't DHs wonderful!? Please tell yours that we all appreciate his care and good guidance! He sounds like a real keeper!)

And thank you for the good advice you have given. Too often we all but ignore the mental issues that cancer and living in general can deal out. Our focus is all on the physical while the mind and spirit are left unprovided for. Like some sort of orphans, they wander around this new world, lost and afraid. The spotlight you have put on them will help many others recognize that they are not alone in fighting that front of the battle. Though this can be most troubling, you must make sure you get the help you need. With it, depression and all its forms of distress are also "doable"!!

Hope now there are many more blue-sky days for you!
