    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Have been away from the board again awhile I guess I just don't have the opportunity to come here that often and my dialup connections do not always work in good old boondocks OHIO. I lost my dad Oct 15th if you recall he was in NH with dementia. Suffered a gastric bleed. Nurses told us most people pass away within an hr of the bleed. Well dad is not most people lasted 4 more days. Very difficult to watch him go but he is at peace with the lord and is no longer suffering. My son whograduated from highschool lost a classmate to drunk driving and in the mean time my 96 yearold Mother-in-law who lives with us has had a regression in her condition it appears her spine is closing shut and pressing agains nerves. Not able to walk and up at least twice during the night. We go to doc tommorrow and then to a specialist. Now you know I can't leave my self out I now have a cyst on my arm that I need to see about. causing numbness in hand if I hold certain way or sleep on it wrong. My dear hubby I am not sure how he holds everythig together but he does. Hope this finds everyone else doing well and prayers would be appreciated if you could send some our way. Have a good day! Though I was glad to see you posting, I was very sad to hear of all the troubles and sadness around you recently!

Please accept my sympathies for the loss of your dad. That had to be a very difficult journey for him and for all of you who loved him. And now your MIL is failing...Please know that she (and YOU!) will be in our thoughts when she sees the doctor this week!

And your son's friend loosing his life and your cyst....Thank heavens for that DH! He must be quite some guy!

Gosh, I do wish you were able to come to this community (or on the main Breast Cancer board) so that you might at least get a bit more support from your Friends here!!

In the meantime, I will light a candle for you and your whole family...It's always nice to know that a little light is lit just for you!

    Blessings....and blue-sky days very soon!!!

Countrygirl...being away from the board can happen more often than not as life can keep us busier and a lot more occupied (and exhausted is some is the entertainment parts I cherish) than we ask for...I'm a testament to that. We are just so joyed that you come to visit us girls! I too have been "away"and just recently have stomped in with muddy shoes on to see how every one and every thing is going for the oldies and the newbies as they are called these days.
I'm so sorry for your loss of your father, I lost my dad in '05 of this month too and it was so so hard for me to watch his body just become so tired and worn out. He spent 1.5 weeks in the hospital on life support before mom and I decided to honor his request to let him go...he didn't let go for another 4 days. I miss him very much. My hubby & I took mom into our home for 2 years and the struggles can be overwhelming at times I know. Prayer, as I forgot, is the best medicine instead of trying to fix everything yourself all the time. She had problems we couldn't keep up with and had to place her in a nursing home. But God is so good, she is very happy there and even found a male friend to share her time with.
I truly hope your cyst is an easy matter for the doctors to remedy, my prayers are there praying it away! And for you & your hubby for strength, hope and faith for your mom-in-law and for the days ahead of you. Lord walk beside you and hold you up! Have a blessed day...Kj
