Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding is tough, in particular when we first start out. But at the end of it, it's very rewarding. How important was family/spouse/outside support for you? Who were your biggest supporters?

Dr. Brennan is a Lactation Consultant, check him out on our Baby's First Year Community .

Everyone has been really great about. Both moms even though neither of them breastfed. DH has been really supportive, but I think that may be because it doesn't cost anything and it means he doesn't have to get up with the baby in the middle of the night. We decided early on there was no point, especially since he works and I stay at home with the kids.

I do think it's sad when grandmothers who didn't breastfeed because it just wasn't really done do their daughters and grandchildren a disservice when they don't support it.

Of course, right now we have the problem where we can't get DS to take a bottle of breastmilk. He did from MIL when they were visiting, but he won't really take one from either of us. This does make the possibility of sending him to hourly daycare problematic because i don't know that he would eat. I've tried different bottles with no success.
