    Frequency of pumping.

Hi girls, I was wondering how often is best to pump. I know they usually say every 3 hrs or after each feeding, but that seems to be a little too much. My DS is 2 months, I'm mainly pumping and bottle feeding him Breast milk (no formula at all). here lately I have been pumping every 8 hrs getting 10 oz per pumping for a total of 30 oz a day. Is this ok? would my milk supply decrease or my body will always know to make the 10 oz every 8hrs? I noticed that when I pump more often I just get less milk, t 4-5 hrs I get around 5 oz. I will be going back to work in a week and it really helps not to have to pump that often, but on the other hand I would like to BF for a year so I have to make sure my milk supply is not reduced.
    What do you think?

More than likely your supply with decrease with time. Especially if you stop pumping throughout the night. I would make sure I pump every 2-3 hours during the day, especially when you are working, and maybe go 4-5 without pumping at night for a bit.
