Milk Ducts

Is it possible to have clogged milk ducts before breastfeeding? I am almost 7 months pregnant with my first child. Some days I will feel a lump and when I massage it or take a warm shower it will go away. Is it the milk ducts I'm feeling or something more serious?

Have you noticed any colostrum coming out when you massage or shower? When I'm feeding sometimes I will get a lump at the top when I'm engorged. It will go away as I'm feeding so I don't think it would be clogged as then it would not go away. So I would think it would be a milk duct because warmth also helps release milk if you are full and is close to feeding time but if you are concerend bring it up at your next checkup.

Thanks for your response. I think you're right about it just being milk ducts. I haven't noticed any colostrum coming out though. It does feel like a lump right at the top. It started happening this weekend and my appt was Friday. I go to the doctor again Friday so I'll bring it up then. Thanks again.

She said that it was the milk ducts that I was beginning to feel and to let her know if it becomes painful. I haven't had any problems so far.
