One side makes more
peanut_1991 posted:
My right breast produces more milk than my left breast. Does this happen to anyone else? My son will be 4 weeks old tomorrow... I have one of the big medela pumps in the black bags. I have been pumping more on the left side for over a week trying to get that side caught up but its not working. Is this normal? Anyone else have this issue?

I had this issue and even if you think its not working m son is 4 months old now and it will even outon its own just keep pumping!!! it will catch up my dr told me to just latch him on that side more often and the brain will tell it to supply more!!! I did and hahaha imagine that it worked. now i have to pump if he gets too lazy and falls asleep bc ib=v made to much!!! but it is worth it bc i have a back stock in my freezer now!! good luck and if your really worried then talk to your lactation specialist but i think you will seeit will work! latch the baby to the troubled side bc they work better then pumps and then pump the over produced side if needed!!! GOOD LUCK!

Its somewhat normal for one side to be a better producer than the other. Just keep alternating breasts when you feed your son, and your body will naturally regulate your supply in both sides. His suckling will stimulate your supply much better than a pump too!
