    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

Would appreciate input as to whether an asymtomatic HIV+, with Hepatitis C virus, recently diagnosed with State IV Hodgkins Lymphoma should be treated with chemotherapy?

The question is should chemotherapy be the treatment option for Hodgkins Lymphoma for a person with the additional conditions?

You expect an internet board to be able to answer whether someone should undergo treatment based on their previous health history???

In stage IV Hodgkins Lymphoma chemotherapy is THE only treatment option. If their other medical issues (the HIV, the Hepatitis C) are both asymptomatic and under good control, why would they not consider chemotherapy. Having these other two diseases would not warrant not treating the Lymphoma.

Yes, I would have appreciated a comment from someone who wasn't going to question the validity of my question. If you don't know anything about the topic, then keep your unnecessary ones to yourself.

I'm quite familiar with all three of these diseases. As has been previously stated, the treatment for stage IV Hodgkins Lymphoma IS chemotherapy. Only chemotherapy. Again, if the other diseases are under good control there should be no reason not to treat the Lymphoma.
