Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Why does my bottle of Ambien come with the warning..."May Cause Drowsiness"? (I hope so)
I have more if you'd like

Jim
There is braille in a number of places that make me curious, but I'm always curious.
How are you doing Jim?
Hugs,
Ang
)I'm doing ok for a dead guy
. I've got double hand surgery suggested...I see the surgeon this coming Tuesday, and I'll take, under advisement, what he tells me.I've been sliced and diced enough, but the hand surgery looks pretty straightforward. Nothing amazing...I have 'Trigger Finger' in both hands, and my GP says that it's a question of time before my hands don't work at all (just like my brain
).Small nodules of tissue (like fatty deposits) form on the tendons, and when they try to slide through the sheath that surrounds them, they stick. The video that I saw, the doc just trimmed off these little nodules and stitched you up, and you were good to go.
If I decide to do this, I hope they use a local...I'd love to watch the procedure...I'm only going to have one hand done at a time. I watched my doc stitch on my finger tip when I trimmed it with a butter knife (Ugly story, I was trying to break apart pork steaks, the knife slipped, and it just got uglier from there)...got full use of the finger now...with feeling...what an artist this guy was...and steady like a rock...I was jealous! I used to be that steady...when I was about 6...hee hee.
Sorry it took me so long to answer up on this, but for some reason, this site didn't pop up as having new posts in my "My Exchanges"...must be those dang aliens again.
BTW: When I saw my GP, my BP was 100/72....I'll TAKE IT!!! Not bad for a crusty ole Geezer, eh?
I had a rough night on Thursday night....my brain said that I was done at 2 AM...Uggg...I hate that when it happens. No warning, no nothing...just boom...ok, you're done...NEXT!
I managed to stay semi-conscious until about 10 last night, and slept like a baby...for about 11 hours...it was great!
Hey, on nights when you're having a rough go with the sand man, try taking a hot soak....the heat will help relax you. My gray matter wasn't on line enough to consider the hot soak the other night, or I would have.
BTW: Have you posted links to here on any other sites you visit? Just a thunk to help you drum up some business. Of course, maybe it means that there aren't that many new patients..which would be a good thing too.
Oooo...almost forgot...I actually got a client with that 'Cancer Mentor' program I'm doing...Finally! Wasn't much to it though. A lady who had lung surgery (like mine..except that she had her whole lung removed) back in January of 2010, and was upset because she didn't think she was healing up fast enough
. She was up and about, no oxygen, but got tired easily (gee, you think?). I told her it was a year or a little bit before I even approached being human again. Had her giggling before we hung up, so I guess it went ok.
Have a great 4th there kiddo!
Jim

Bet you're a fantastic mentor. Whoever gets you is truly blessed.
Good luck with the hand surgery, when are they planning on doing it?
I've been getting about three nights of decent sleep a week and am willing to try most anything. Went back on my Xanax and it seems to help. My mind is my worst enemy when it's bedtime. It just wants to keep going... LOL!
Well, should try to sleep now...
Goodnight and take care.
Hugs,
Angie
No biggie on not writing sooner....I know that folks have a life outside of WebMD. The book sounds interesting...not 100% on the blog thing, as I don't really go to blog websites, and I definitely don't use twitter either.
I dunno about fantastic...it went pretty well and had her giggling by the time we hung up, so I guess I did ok.
Well, I went in this week to see him, and he thought it might be a good idea to start non-invasively (I agree), so he opted for cortisone shots at the bast of my index and middle finger on my right hand. Kinda bites a little, but once the local kicked in, I didn't care what he did with the hand. He said that I have 'Trigger finger, Carpal Tunnel, and Arthritis'...gee..no foolin?!
(must be why he gets the big bucks..heheheh).So, I spent a day/evening this week with a hand that had no feeling. That was interesting...made complex chores like picking up my mug of Pepsi kind of a challenge...and had a heck of a time cutting a hamburger...dang fork kept wandering all over the place

I got all my feeling back now, and my fine dexterity seems to be improved...still got the trigger, but my hand dosen't feel like it's been hit with a hammer all the time. I go in for the left hand next week.
BTW: Monday was Mary's birthday...I got her a hand held taser to carry with her since she does volunteer work in the evenings lots of the time. Thing puts out 2.5 MILLION volts...that should make the muggers think twice. Nice one too..has a flashlight built in, and a built in recharger. About the size of a pack of cigarettes.
Have a good night's sleep there.
Jim
Sleeping is still a bit of an issue and if it keeps up may have to talk to the doctor about it and or the restless leg crap. Either way, I'd sure love to sleep like a normal person (it's after 3 a.m. now).
Glad you're having some luck with the less invasive option with your trigger finger... Goodness knows you need that. Keep waiting for my eldest to end up with that issue.
Well, need to attempt sleep...
Take care and tell Mary happy belated birthday.
Hugs,
Ang
Yeah, near as I know they're legal here, but then again...which would you rather have....an illegal taser or your throat cut by some weirdo...pretty easy choice for me. I had 3 sisters and am currently married, so you don't need to detail what kind of situations happen in purses....Mary will send me after something in hers and I'll just bring it to her and let her sort it out because without a guide, I'll never find anything.
No worries on zapping yourself....the switch is a two position affair where you have to slide the power switch all the way up (second position), and then hit the "Strike Them With Lightning" button...so, it'd be pretty hard to nail yourself.
Oh, I also have a firing range and archery range set up in the basement...then there's my 'Sniper' game on the computer...then I also have a super-duper sling-shot that uses an aluminum frame with surgical tubing...I can launch just about anything
.Maybe you should get your eldest some shooting lessons...the ranges have .22's they can rent out (or instructors do), the fee is fairly reasonable, and that way he'll learn (or she'll learn) safe, responsible handling of a weapon. That'll keep your worry quotient down a bit. My instructor when I was in high school was an off-duty cop by the name of Mr. Randall...he's long dead now, but I can still remember him and his lectures on gun safety....got my rifle-expert rating before I graduated from high school!
Good luck on the sleep...what helps me when sleep is stubborn is an Ambien at bedtime, and then 30 mins later a Soma....Mary likes warm milk, or melatonin, or herbal teas. Heck, if she looks at my Ambien too hard, she's asleep.
I will certainly pass the word on her Birthday to her. BTW: If you want one of those tasers, you can get it at
http://www.knifeandgunshow.com
Go to the search box and type in the word crimestop
It'll come right up...they take credit cards, or will accept a check from you, or a money order too (just a little slower on shipping that way).
Jim
You meant the medical trigger finger...sheesh.Like I've always said..."There's no point in being stupid, unless you get to prove it once in a while"
Got my quota for this week!

Jim
