Tips for properly moving my stroke patient

helperchic posted:
I have been a caregiver for 5 years, and have just taken on caring for a stroke recoverer. Her husband has been training me, but I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on ways they know to properly help her get up from the bed, chair, etc, back down, etc, and moving her to wash her. I'm not like a waif body, I am strong, but have never dealt with moving a partially paralyzed woman.
