Hi, I'm Helen, my Mothers caregiver. My mother has stage 4 alzheimer's disease. She is in a skilled nursing facility. Most of the time she doesn't know me. Lately it has been reported to me that she has become increasingly combative. Her doctor has her on Serequel 50mg bid which doesn't seem to be helping now. I need others input on medications that their loved ones have been put on that helps with this problem. I know its the disease assaulting the brain that is causing this, but how can we protect her and others from this violent out bursts? All experiences would be appreciated...

Welcome Helen. We are glad to have you. That sounds really hard for you. How are you coping with the stress?

I don't know much about Alzheimer's medications, but the members of our Alzheimer's Support Group do.
