Could It Be Celiac?

Good evening, everyone. I am experiencing a barrage of different symptoms, most of which can't be explained, and I'm wondering if it may be Celiac or a glute or wheat allergy and maybe someone's had a similar experience. I've been tested, just waiting for results.

I'm 35 and have had migraines since I was a teenager. My hair started falling out about ten years ago and is looking pretty bad. I've been on a number of antidepressants over the past ten years for anxiety attacks and bad depression. I have a phantom knee pain that's pretty bad and the MRI showed nothing, but the pain is very real. As I continue to go to the doctor, it's been determined that I had a pretty bad Vita D deficiency.

I have to wonder of this isn't all related and could it be a gluten allergy? Your thoughts?

It's possible the symptoms could reflect gluten issues. How are you being tested? There are now suggested to be several 'forms' of gluten sensitivity, including the well-known celiac disease, and not all tests look for other than strictly celiac so the type of testing process could be important to what you will find out. In addition, some cases even the gold standard of celiac tests - the biopsy - give a true answer. So it may be a bit difficult to get a yes/no answer unless the answer is extremely evident.

I don't mean to seem to make things more difficult for you, but I'd like to make sure is you are having gluten issues of some kind that you don't receive a 'false' answer.

Migraines are well-known in celiac circles, but they're also well-known to those with gluten-sensitivity. Joint pains are found with both conditions, as are Vit D and other deficiencies. What about fatigue? Any rashes or skin blotching of any kind? Depression can occur with many forms of GI issues, so it would be a tough correlation.

Well, it turns out that some celiac test I took came back negative/normal. I asked my doctor via email whether that means that I am just not celiac or fully that I don't have an intolerance of gluten. She hasn't responded in about a week and I feel as though I've been labeled as a hypochondriac by both family doctors I've gone to. I am so frustrated, and to be honest scared. I honestly feel as though SOMETHING is wrong with me and that no one believes me. I have a meeting with a hair specialist on Monday, so maybe that will lead to something. I've also been reading Sweet Poison by Dr. Janet Hull which talks about the effects of aspartame poisoning and the symptoms that can cause. It sounds just like me. But I feel ilke I'm grasping at straws. And there's no way I could reach out to my doctor and say "hey, I think it may be aspartame now."

Please....you need to purge your cupboards and fridge of all sugar substitutes immediately. Seriously. I am a victim of aspartame poisoning. I now have graves disease.
Any food with aspartame, sucralose, malitol, manitol and sorbitol. Read every container.
If you dont feel like a new person within the week, i will be shocked. People dont realize that even things like restless leg syndrome and fibromyaligia could also be aspartame poisoning. Even things like miracle whip have artificial sweeteners in it. gum, yogurt, granola bars etc.....go through them all. start drinking water, milk or real fruit juice.
You still should tell your Dr what you suspect. Looks like you could very well be on the right track. Doctors are FINALLY catching on!
Very best of luck to you! Please let us know how its working out for you. Biggest thing of all.....please tell me that you do not have children who are ingesting artificial sweeteners. its even MORE important to never let children have this.
Keep us posted on how you're doing!
