I'm in a pickle as what to do. can i get some answers please???

Liltil, my husband is pretty sensitive to getting hit with even a speck of gluten, but we've never had to go to the lengths you're suggesting. We take the normal precautions of making sure there's no food contamination and any counters or surfaces that come into contact with gluten-containing foods are thoroughly cleaned - they're non-porous to begin with.

I eat gluten-containing products, or make foods that contain gluten for myself when I want to and I just make sure to be cautious and wash my hands in the normal way. I don't need to take more serious measures such as immediate teeth-cleaning or the like.

There are some people that need to be more cautious, but trial-and-error has shown us my husband doesn't have a problem with surface contact of gluten. Why don't you see what happens over several months time with normal measures and see what happens. If his work brings him in contact with a lot of gluten, perhaps he can take a quick shower when he comes home and that will place your mind more at ease while you're waiting to see what else may need to be done, or not done.

Okay, the good news is, you can rest easy on this issue. I have had Celiac Disease for quite a while now and I am married to a Professional Chef! My husband comes home from work and showers with no extra grooming or cleaning necessary. Even if he doesn't shower right away, I am never bothered by his exposure to gluten. No snuggle and smooch away, no worries there!
