My son is 4 and he has either terrible screaming constipation or run down your leg diarrea. there is never a normal bowel movement. He also has autism and Dr.s say oh this is typical of autistics. they ran a panel and told me he came back negative for food allergies and celiacs but I know there is something else they are missing. He has terrible leg pains and eats like crazy without really gaining alot of weight. help please if anyone has some suggestions.

An_240967, the variations in bowel habits you're describing are not 'normal' for anyone. If the only testing your son has had is the food allergy testing, I believe you should ask for further investigation into what is going on.

On the off-chance the result of the celiac testing is incorrect - and it often is - you may want to consider giving gluten-free eating a try. Some people only find out for 'sure' by exclduing gluten and waiting to see what happens. Even the 'gold standard' - the duodenal biopsy - can turn out to be wrong.

I know going GF can be difficult, but it's worth a try.
