    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Statin Problems

Took various statins for 10 years. Many side effects such as cramps, muscle and joint pain, loss of memory, and muscle weakness during this time. Couldn't bend to tie my shoes.
Thought I was dying. Sold my business because of these conditions.
Finally discontinued statins after consulting my cardiologist and within two weeks started feeling better. His comment was that not everyone can tolerate them.
That was two yrs ago. Memory returned, muscle strength returned and pain is gone. Total cholesterol is 220. HDL is 50. LDL is 158. Now able to exercise everyday and I feel great.

Glad you were able to recover. Sorry to hear you had to sell your business because of statin side effects, but you are not the only one who couldn't continue with their work from these drugs.
