    Cholesterol lowering foods

    What are some other foods besides oatmeal that assist in lowering cholesterol?

    It is not so much foods that lower cholesterol as to a heart healthy lifestyle.

    Limit saturated fats.
    Lean protein, fatty fish, low fat dairy.
    Healthy fats such as fish oil, nuts, olive oil, and avocados.
    Lots and lots of fruits and veggies.
    Limit refined carbs such as while flour products and foods with sugar added.

    And regular exercise.

    In addition to billh99's suggestions, you may also take a look at our Cholesterol Diet Directory -- it has some great information that you may find helpful. This blog post on foods that help lower cholesterol also has some good tips.
