New Warnings on Statins

Memory loss, confusion, high blood sugar, and type 2 diabetes are possible side effects.

Brand name and generic versions of statin drugs must carry these warnings on their labels, the FDA today announced. Click the link above for a list of the brand name and generic meds that must now carry the warning.

Better late than never. Whats interesting is it took 25 years on the market before this warning was issued.

I clearly remember patient complaints of memory loss being discredited or ignored altogether. How long did patients have to complain of memory loss before someone listened? 25 years.

The brain is the organ most dependent upon cholesterol to function properly. It shouldn't be any wonder why these drugs have the capability of inducing memory loss and confusion. They block the substance needed for nerve synapses in the brain. Cholesterol.
