Port issues

I had a port installed for my chemo treatments, blood work etc during my breast cancer treatments. My port got infected and had to be removed at the end of the treatments. They did blood work, etc to try and figure out what was going on. The doctors, nurses, etc said they had never seen anything like it and the infection continued even after the removal. I was in the surgery waiting room to have exploratory type surgery to see what was going on when it decided it looked better and we would wait. It seemed to heal on up and I kind of forgot about it for the last 3 months. Now the pain has started back and it seems to be turning red again. No port is in my system and nothing has happened to the area so any ideas on why this is now popping up? Doesn't really hurt just uncomfortable.
