My son is 17, he has learning disability. Do you know any treatment for that, like something to stimulate brain to work better.

Welcome An_240459 and thanks for posting about your son.

I don't know if your son's specific learning disability has been diagnosed or not, but we have an article on Detecting Learning Disabilities that may be helpful. I would encourage you to talk to your son's doctor for some recommendations of what may be available in your community. Also, if he has a social worker or counselor that could point you in the right direction.

I do not know if any of these organizations might prove helpful, but you may want to take a look at:

2-1-1 which provides free information and referral through the United Way and other organizations.

Patient Advocate Foundation

Some of our other members may have more suggestions, too.

Let us know how you're doing,

Hi Byroney,
Thank you so much for your reply. My son is getting help as school, but it is not enough. He needs more agressive training and brain exercises to increase his learning abilities. I did some research and found Learning Rx, company which garantee increasing of the brain activities after their 6 months trainning. We went there and he had test. They told me that they can help, but the program very expensive. 6-10K. Do you know any organization who can financialy help us to pay for his training, even part will be very helpfull. Thank you so much .

Bebe,

I am glad to hear your son is getting some help at school, even if it's not enough. Have you asked the school counselors or your son's social worker (if he has one) if there are any additional programs he might be eligible for? Also ask about grants or funding that might be there.

Also, I would suggest talking to Learning RX and find out if they have scholarships. If you're active in your community or a regligious or other group, perhaps a fund-raiser for your son would be possible?

Hopefully you'll be able to find a way to get the additional help your son needs.

Please keep us updated if you have a chance,

Byroney
