Hi

Feel free to tell me if I am posting in the wrong place. I have left the hospital after several surgies to repair damage to my right lower leg and foot after being struck by a roll of construction/landscape wire that fell from a cliff behind me while I was watching my kids surf at a beach in Marin County. I have had three surgeries to-date. I am now recuperating at home. I felt a littel blue this morning and recognize that the really hard work will be in the ever so slow process of healing and to much time to ponder things that might make me blue so I decided to go on this forum and interact with people. I would like to hear thoughts on ways to stay positive when you must mostly rely on others for most things. I have access to my laptop so thats a positive : )

Hello SFBayArea and can I just say OUCH! What a very unfortunate and painful sounding accident.

The good news is that you are on the road to healing. I sure hope the surgeries are over.

It's smart that you're thinking positive and looking for ways to keep yourself engaged and mentally active, even if the physical stuff needs to wait a bit.

This community is pretty quiet so don't be offended if people don't respond right away. The Sports Medicine Community might be a helpful place to check out, too, because there are a lot of folks there doing rehab for various injuries.

Here are some WebMD Games that might make you smile. Pretty silly, but some are fun and all are free. The stress reducing Mah Jongg is my favorite.

Write back and let us know how you're doing,
