Deep sleeper

I am a very heavy sleeper and it scares me a bit. I have slept through fire alarms and terrible thunderstorms. It is very hard for others to wake me, they can yell, poke, and at times even roll me off the bed and I can just sleep right through it. If I was getting a restful sleep it wouldn't be as much of a problem, but I am not. I can sleep a full 7-8 hours and still wake up exhausted. Why am I always so tired? Is there anyway to train myself to be a lighter sleeper?

I'm sorry to hear of your sleeping issues. This article on when to see a Doctor for Sleep Disorders may be helpful to you. This slideshow of Sleep Disorders is informative, too.

Best wishes for better sleep,
