The American Association on Health and Disability (AAHD) Health Promotion Resource Center (HPRC) is the only Resource Center that provides across the spectrum and across the lifespan comprehensive information and resources on health promotion and wellness for children and adults with disabilities, their families, caregivers, disability researchers, and health care professionals. The mission of AAHD is to advance health promotion and wellness for children and adults with disabilities at the federal, state and community level. AAHD achieves its mission through research, education, advocacy and public policy. AAHD also launched in 2008, the Disability and Health Journal, the only peer reviewed, multidisciplinary, scholarly and scientific journal in the field of disability and health.

The HPRC is operated by the American Association on Health and Disability, a 501 ? (3) located in Rockville, MD. AAHD is a national non profit organization representing children and adults with disabilities, and is the only organization specifically dedicated to promoting health and wellness for people with disabilities, health care professionals, caregivers, disability researchers and consumers.

The HPRC is located on the AAHD website at www.aahd.us and in 2009, had over 1,375,000 hits to the site. The HPRC is divided into the following categories:
