Looking for Others with CFS CFIDS ME

I am really looking for some support from others that have Chronic Fatigue and some help with dealing with it or just sharing experiences and advice? I was diagnosed at 14 yrs old and am now 29 and it's taken me this long to accept the fact it is what it is and I am not normal and can't work a normal full time even part time job. I have tried many years and now am looking for ways to get health insurance to have my needed medical appointments. If anyone is out there with any advice, or just to show some support I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Hello 1Butterfly82,

Welcome to the community.

1Butterfly82, I too have had low energy and exhaustion symptoms from an early age (15). I will be 41 next month. I was diagnosed with CFS last year.

I do not live in the US as I think you might do, so I cannot unfortunately advise you on health insurance.

However I am here if you need to chat about our illness.

Take care and I hope you feel better very soon.

Kindest regards,

Sergio

I completely understand. I was first diagnosed in 2003. I have recently had to take a medical leave from my full time job, I just can't work. I can't even do my housework or grocery shopping. I live alone, and I understand how much it helps to talk to someone who understands. The Drs are useless, and friends and family don't have a clue about the frustration we experience. If you need to vent - reply to me. It has been difficult for me to find a support group - so I feel totally blessed to have found this one!!

Thank you so much for responding! I think it is great that there are people out there that feel the same as I do and understand. Same goes for you I think it helps to vent to others that know a lot about this disease and have experience with it. I understand your situation on the job situation. Ever since I was diagnosed I really pushed myself to "be normal" and basically didn't accept that I couldn't do what others do especially being so young. Now I am unable to work and some days it is hard for me to so the simple things even brushing my hair hurts some days. I have a hard time not overdoing it on the days I feel good because I feel like I need to get so much done but then the next day like today, I am exhausted. Is it ok to ask you some questions about your experience with this disease? Like what helps you as far as medications and what you do to cope? If that's too personal I understand I am just trying to get some pointers and maybe some input from others. Thanks again for your time and letting me vent to you.

Thank you for responding! I don't think I responded to you, but my memory is not the best so I am replying to you sorry if I already have. I had some questions for you if you don't mind answering them. Just basically what methods you have tried that help you with this disease. I am really watching my diet and nutrition to get all the nutrients I need to maybe make me feel a little better, and I am on medications. What have you found to be the most helpful? Thanks again for you time. If those are too personal of questions I understand too. I am just trying to get some positive input or ideas.
