I went to the doctors last week with an unexplain itchey, hivy rash ALL over my body. It was horriable. My doctor ordered up blood work and put me on prenazone. Right now I'm feeling better. The results of my blood work were shoking though. My AST and ALT were 10 points higher than the normal range... I was freaked out but my doctors didn't seemed to worried. He just ordered another liver test in a month. But here is the truth I chew TONS of sugar-less gum and read articles online the stuff in sugarless gum and cause elevated AST and ALT levels. I'm going could turkey and have stopped all gum. Is my liver permently damaged? If not, can it be under done? What about liver caner?

Yikes. I have never even heard of AST and ALT.
