I just bought "100 Best Foods for Pregnancy." See, I was at Barnes and Noble on my lunch break browsing through the clearance cook books. (I love to try new foods.) There it was. On sale, too. So I picked it up intending to leaf through it an put it back down. Well, somehow it magically jumped in with the cookbooks and ended up being taken home. Don't know how that happened....

I've done this with a few other things, too. Mostly books. I've been slowly purchasing all of the books I used to love reading when I was a little girl. I've also picked up a few onsies/pajamas. Mostly police and firefighter themed. DH is both.

Part of me thinks this is really pointless...a waste of money. I should just wait until I get pregnant to buy things...you know, in case it never happens. But then there's this other part of me that just can't resist. What about you, ladies? Have you purchased any baby items in anticipation of that BFP?

So, according to this book the following foods contain nutrients that can assist in conception:
Pumpkin seeds
Lemons
Free-range eggs
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Buckwheat
Guava
Lamb
Milk
Sun-dried tomato
Quinoa
Radish
Mackerel
Cilantro leaves
Cinnamon
Miso
Pears
Passion Fruit
Green Tea
Brazil Nuts

I guess the section on fertility and conception can help me to justify this purchase for DH. Haha

You know I am a sucker for cook books too! I love Barnes and Noble and love to look through the Bargin Section of the store! You can find some good books in there!

The list of foods to help with pregnancy is amazing. There are some things on there I eat, but then others I just think " what is that?" I have heard one of the things is milk and I HATE milk. I am hoping that is maybe something I will like once I get pregnant.

I have not bought anything yet. I don't think I could handle seeing it if I didn't get pregnant. it would be way to hard!

All I have bought so far is a diaper bag and a onesie. I got the diaper bag from a thirty-one party and it has our last name on it. I broke down last week and bought a onesie that says "Grandpa's little fishin' buddy". I plan to give it to FIL when we tell DH's parents. I just couldn't resist it since we go fishing with FIL quite often, it was perfect! I still need to find one to give to my parents and MIL. Oh yeah, I also bought the book What to Expect When You're Expecting. I got it when we first started trying. I have given up looking through it until we actually are expecting since I have a tendency to get too obsessed.

I bought the What to Expect book when we first started trying, too. The only part I've looked at is the prenatal care portion. The whole first section is about TTC. Since then, though, it's sat on the bookshelf in our living room.

I bought a onesie to give to DH when I tell him we're finally pregnant. It says "Some heroes wear capes, mine wears kevlar" (material that is used in bulletproof vests). I bought it when we first started TTC thinking I could have given it to him a LONG time ago.

I focus most of my shopping energy on my two nephews. They're good outlets for my baby crazy brain!

I hate milk, too. Don't drink it. Ever. However, ice cream and cheese contain milk. Justification for that evening ice cream cone? I think so!

Someone on here mentioned lemon water not too long ago. That would be a good way to eat/drink more lemons. There are some things on this list that I never would have considered. I love pumpkin seeds. Perhaps I'll start eating them a bit more. I'm a salsa fiend, too. My homemade salsa has cilantro in it. Hmmm....

I know what you mean about not wanting to see things you buy. I tucked them all away in a drawer and never take them out. I figure if I don't conceive on my own or adopt a baby, they'll be given away eventually as shower gifts or something.

The onesie sounds cute! My DH is a computer geek and I've seen some out there that say "Diaper loading...... please wait" Lol. I'm thinking about getting one! I have a 15 month old niece and a nephew coming in a few weeks, I will definitely be buying stuff for them. You're right it does help feed the urge to buy stuff but not have it sit in a drawer!

Hey in my opionion that is a great reason to have that evening ice cream cone! You have my permission!!

I love cheese and ice cream too. Plus I eat a lot of yogurt, so I am getting my milk products just not from drinking a glass of milk. I go back and forth with the lemon water. I drink that when I go to restaurants and I would fill my water jug with lemon water, but then I will go months without buying lemons to put in my water!
