HCG lab draw today; results in AM

Ladies, you may think I'm crazy... but apparently my OB doesn't! I haven't had a positive hpt, but also haven't started AF. My periods are extremely irregular, ranging from 28-39 days. So when to test is a problem. I haven't tested in a few days. I've felt different and I also had spotting seven days after ovulation and BDing. (That, if it is, would be textbook timeframe for implantation spotting to occur). I called the Dr and spoke with the nurses (I do go to a specialty OBGYN) when I told them the story and told them that I have never spotted in my life (so never in the last eleven years) and that I have very heavy periods - they wanted to draw HCG. I informed them that I haven't gotten a postive hpt. I asked shouldn't it be positive by now? The nurse said "not necessarily" They left a note for the Dr. The Dr responded, according to the nurse, that she "absolutely" wanted to draw a HCG lab. So now I don't feel as crazy, seeing as how the Dr thinks there is a possibilty as well. I am on day 38 and no signs of AF - except my breasts have been tender, but for two weeks! I'm having some other symptoms - but I think the kicker for the Dr and nurses is the spotting. It just seems to fit. They drew HCG, Progesterone, and Blood type. So I am going to call in the morning and hopefully find out! If I'm not, I will accept it and move on to the next month, and just continue to wonder what the spotting was all about. If it's positive - well you can guess what I would think about that!!

Thanks... I'm starting to feel hope slip away as we approach a year of trying. I never thought this would be me. Our daughter came so easily, of which I'm grateful, but it still hurts to not be able to have another child. I get so excited at the end of the 2ww when my period is suppose to come - I read into things and get so hopeful... only to have my hopes dashed completely with yet another BFN. My Dr didn't say anything because it's my husband that wanted to try naturally before further intervention. I'm going to make an appt anyways and tell my husband we need help.. because this is just not working!!

Not a bad idea about calling for help. I don't know how old you are but I am 36 and have no children, so I am feeling extremely desperate. My DH and I decided this is going to be our last month nautrally. I will do an IUI next month. I am waiting to O so after all of that I will call the RE and schedule that. I did 3 IUIs with my OB, but the RE does things just a little differently.

I know how you feel about the disappointment at the end of each month. Getting your hopes up, reading into every twinge, ache and spot. I do the exact same thing no matter if everything went right or not that month. I am worried now though that my endo is growing back. I only did the surgery 3 months ago so I don't have a lot of time to mess with in case it does grow back. I don't want to go through another surgery which is why we decided this would be the last month naturally.

I am surprised your doctor didn't suggest getting referred to an RE because most after a year of trying will automatically refer. Oh well make the call and hope it all goes well. Hopefully your husband will understand!

I hope so! I wish you luck with your situation. I'm only 25, 26 next month. My husband and I will be married 5 years this December. Brooke, my daughter, is a godsend. I feel almost guilty wanting another one so much - and I think that what God is trying to teach me is to be grateful for what I already have - her. Today I started crying from disappointment. She came up to me and put her hands on my shoulder (she's three years old) and said "it be okay momma" and went a got a washcloth and wiped the tears from my face. My heart literally melted. How can I want another so much when I already have so much? But yet I feel that someone is missing from our family.

I hope the IUI works wonders for you. I don't know if an RE would be covered by my insurance like my OB is. I really like my OB. She mentioned trying femera, so hopefully thats the next step. I've had lots of friends who have said its wonderful. So you haven't tried femera? You're jumping right to IUI?

You are lucky to have your daughter. That is so sweet what she told you. I hope someday you can give her a brother or sister! It will happen...for both of us!!!

Yes, I am going right to IUI. Being 36 and already been at this for 20 months I don't have a lot of time to waste anymore! I did 3 rounds IUI with my OB (none of which were covered under insurance). The RE told me when I went there in March they would do surgery then injectables, then IUI, but I don't want to waste anymore months. I am worried my endometriosis is already starting to come back and if that is the case we will be right back to square one. I want to get ahead of it! I am going to call the RE tomorrow and let them know what I am thinking. I hope they are able to get back to me and not to many people are going there especially with the holiday.

I wish you all the luck in the world!! Things need to look up for all of us! Though I feel more for those of you who don't already have a child. Primary infertility really sucks more than secondary, in my opinion. Though I would love to have another one! Keep us posted on everything!
