Diaper Pails

What do you ladies use for a diaper pail? Before we decided to cloth diaper I was going to put the Munckin Arm and Hammer diaper pail on my registry, but now I don't know what to use. I want to be able to use a washable diaper pail liner, but I'm having a hard time finding a good pail, because I am also worried about odor. I don't have a ton of space, I live in a two bedroom apt and the laundry area is in the bathroom, so I wanted something I could keep next to the changing table in the baby's room, just worried about the odor though. What do you think, we are just doing a dry pail also. Thanks

I found one at BRU that is the kind your step on to open. Really it seems like you could use any garbage can that had a lid. I put a little pouch of arm and hammer in it and it helps with the odor. It doesn't ever touch the diapers. I think pail costs around $15.

I had an old diaper pail from when I used disposables so I use that. But like Roni said, any trash can will work. I use a pail liner from PlanetWise and I love it. It has been in use for 17 mo and still going strong. I just wash it when it gets dirty or starts to smell. Usually every 2-4 wash cycles. I rarely have issues with stink with cloth diapers. When I used disposables we had ALOT of stink issues but when cloth we really don't. Partly probably because we flush the poop and partly because it gets washed every 3 days instead of sitting in the diaper pail until trash day once a week.

We just use a trash can I bought at Target. I keep the lid open and usually put a few drops of tea tree oil on a washcloth that I have in the can. I've never really had an issue with stink.

Thanks ladies! I went ahead and took the one off my registry, so I'll probably just get a basic trash can or Bbaies R Us has a couple diaper pails that are like 15 bucks.

I have yet to start using cloth diapers because my DD hasn't been born yet. She's now 8 days overdue!
I was talking with someone last weekend who cloth diapers though, and this is what she does, and i thought I would try it first:
She uses just a regular, tall plastic hamper with the holes in it. She then lines it with a mesh laundry bag. She washes the bag with the diapers every other day. She recommended having something that air would flow through because otherwise you are more likely to breed yeast and bacteria on the diapers.
I'm going to try this first and see how bad the smell is. If I can't handle the smell, I think I'll still use the mesh bags since they can go right into the laundry, and switch to something i can close.

We also use a trash can from target with a pail liner. The trash can has a lid and I hang a sock with an orange scented disk (I think they are called deo disks) in it. I've never had any problems with odor. If I did I would probably put my diapers through a few extra rinses because it would more than likely be a soap build up problem. Our pail is in our bedroom next to the changing table and even with my super prego senses I can't smell a thing.

We also have a dry pail and use a small trash can with a lid that opens when you step on it. It doesn't have any stink issues since we wash the diapers every other day. So far it's worked great!
