I am justifiably paranoid lately, and suspicious of doctors, due to some recent diagnosis. Could I be missing something. I am 56 and don't feel I am fully listened to or taken seriously.

without more information it's a little difficult to help you. if you don't mind my asking, what is the diagnosis and why do you not feel listened to?

To me it sounds like you are experiencing emotional intensity, maybe a response to stress, maybe just a normal swing in your emotional cycle. My pdoc described my paranoia as unusual as I told him about truly feeling singled-out and "left out of the loop" with my closest acquaintenaces. He insisted that it was abnormal to feel paranoid. For me, its a normal response I have to certain social situations. Please don't give it too much bother, your pdoc is in that business, you are not. ~ Goat
