    Crackling sound in ear
    SRoss3 posted:
Hello Doctor! This crackling sound in my left ear is driving me crazy! It has finally gotten to the point that I cant hear it all the time, but it's still there when I push on my ear. Today the left side of my head is kind of getting achy and a minor headache. Unsure if its related. Otherwise, no pain or hearing loss. What should I do? Thank you~

What should you do? You will need to see your medical provider or an ENT specialist so that you can be properly examined, diagnosed, and treated. There can be many different reasons for having this crackling sound, from problems in the ear canal (like a wax impaction or even a hair lying against the eardrum) to issues in the middle ear/eustachian tubes or inner ear.

Seeing an ENT would be my first choice, if this can be arranged.

Thank you Dr. for your advice. I really appreciate it!
